Sean O'Marra II is our Music Student of the Month! Nominated by Ms. Jill Russell, Sean is a 7th-grade student at Westside Middle School Academy in Danbury, Connecticut. He plays the flute and guitar.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I live in Danbury, CT. I love muscle cars and am the youngest of three kids. I play the flute and have been playing since 2021. I take private lessons in addition to band class. I also play electric and acoustic guitar.

What has music taught you?

Music has taught me to be persistent and that small things here and there make a difference in the big picture.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

My favorite piece of music to play on the flute is America the Beautiful and Enter Sandman on the electric guitar.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

For fun, I like to ride my dirt bike or work with my grandpa. My hobbies include driving my RC car and playing soccer.

What is your favorite subject in school? Why?

My favorite subjects are math, band, and P.E. In these subjects, I excel and can have fun.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to be a president of an architectural firm and play music shows on the side. If I could change one thing about the world, I would want to end corruption in people with leadership titles.
