The Stamford Symphony's home is the Stamford Center for the Arts' 1586-seat Palace Theatre, a spectacularly renovated former vaudeville house in the heart of Stamford, Connecticut’s downtown. The Stamford Symphony consists of 60 musicians, all of whom are members of professional musicians’ unions. It is the only fully professional orchestra in southern Connecticut.
Exposure to classical music at an early age is a gift that offers a lifetime of rewards. At the Stamford Symphony, we believe that all of the children in our community should have access to this gift. That's why the Stamford Symphony has built a partnership with local schools to help provide and fund quality music education programs to all students. Through our acclaimed music education program, we bring professional musician-educators from the Symphony into schools, we give students special opportunities to see the Symphony at work, and we offer scholarships to promising young musicians.
The Stamford Symphony’s education programs reach more than 4,500 students in Stamford and its surrounding communities each year.
