September Music Student of the Month

NylahNylah Bernard, now a third grader at Discovery Magnet School in Bridgeport, CT, has been playing the violin for almost a year. She is a student in the KEYS music program in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Always a student of promise, positive attitude, and attentiveness during lessons, Nylah became even more dedicated to her home practice over the summer months. Nylah has shown this through increased attention to all required details of her home practice and arriving at her next lesson always having mastered, with excellence, the required material.

Nylah even goes above and beyond from time to time, learning additional material fueled solely by her own motivation. Her markedly extra dedication to practicing outside of her lessons has enabled her to progress very rapidly, and she has learned five new Suzuki songs this summer, as well as embarked on note reading studies.

Amy Selig, her violin instructor, is very proud of Nylah, and so are we!

You're a wonderful musician, Nylah.

As Nylahs grandmother, I have been blessed to watch her learning from a most wonderful teacher who understands children and how best to teach them.
