October Music Student of the Month

WilsonWilson Perez Duran is a 6th grader at Broadview Middle School in Danbury, Connecticut. He was nominated by his 5th grade music teacher Ms. Conrad. Wilson has been playing piano for three years and the drums since last month.

What has music and/or your program taught you?

Music has taught me to be myself. Music has also taught me to feel better about myself.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

My favorite piece of music to play is called Scenario and it's played on the piano. It's my favorite because it is the piece I am most proud of.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

In my free time, I like to play video games. I like to play them because video games make me happy.

What is your favorite subject(s) in school? Why?

My favorite subject in school is math. I like math because it's the subject I am most confident in. It makes me happy because getting answers correct is satisfying to me.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to go to college and play at concerts. I also want to become a piano teacher. I want to own multiple businesses so to accomplish my goals I will work hard.
