March Music Student of the Month

MiguelviMiguelvi Jimenez is our Music Student of the Month! Nominated by his teacher, Ms. Cardamone, who was our first Music Teacher of the Month,  Miguelvi is a 5th-grade student at Shelter Rock Elementary School in Danbury, Connecticut. He plays the trumpet.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am in the 5th grade at Shelter Rock School. Ms. Cardamone is my music teacher. I have been playing the trumpet for two years.

What has music taught you?

Music taught me how to play trumpet and read music. Because of trumpet class I learned half a song my sister wanted me to on my own.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

London Bridge is one of my favorite pieces to play. I don’t even need the music. And songs where we get to play in a round. I want to play jazz.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

Usually, I practice playing the trumpet. I play on my PlayStation and watch TV. I play soccer and I like football. Growing up I played baseball and volleyball. My hobbies are playing sports, video games and trumpet.

What is your favorite subject in school? Why?

All the types of specials like music, PE and art. I am hyper and silly and those subjects allow me to act myself.

What are your plans for the future?

I would continue playing trumpet for fun. And maybe try all the different kinds of trumpets. That would be future me! I have always wanted to be a professional football player.
