June Music Student of the Month

Music Student of the Month AmoAmogelang Tsagae is in the band program at Shelter Rock in Danbury, Connecticut. He's in fifth grade and plays percussion.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who nominated you? How long have you been playing your instrument?

I'm in the fifth grade music class with Miss Cardamone. I have been playing percussion for the whole school year.

What has music and your program taught you?

Drum class taught me to keep the beat, the way I should hold my drum sticks and how to play music and rhythms.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

The London Bridge because it is fast and I like the tempo.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

I like to play soccer in recess and at home and be outside.

What is your favorite subject in school? Why?

My favorite subject is art because I get to make art work and I love to make art work.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to be a soccer player and a doctor.
