January Music Student of the Month

Miguel Angel Sosa Jr is in the music program at Neighborhood Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and was nominated by Jonathan French. He is 10 years old and in 6th grade. Miguel has been playing the piano for 4 years.

What has music and your program taught you?

I love to play the piano, I've learned that notes can turn into a melody and you can express your feelings through that melody.

Music is everything for me, when I play the piano and sing I forget about everything around me and just flow with the music.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

My favorite song to play is When the Saints Go Marching In.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

My hobbies are singing, playing the piano and the violin. Also, I like to play soccer with my brothers.

What is your favorite subject in school? Why?

My favorite subject in school is math because it's fun to learn new strategies to solve problems.

What are your plans for the future?

When I grow up I want to be a Christian singer and play the piano and the violin in a big orchestra!!!!
