February Music Student of the Month

Iker Tipismana is a 10-year-old violin student with Project Music and is in 5th grade at Toquam Magnet School in Stamford, Connecticut. 

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who nominated you? How long have you been playing your instrument?

My name is Iker. My violin teacher nominated me, and I’ve been playing for a year and a half.

What has music and/or your program taught you?

I've learned more about how to use the bow on the violin. And, music has taught me that you can make basically anything out of sounds as long as it has a pattern.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

Fiddler’s Medley

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

I like to play with my cousins or friends. We like to play video games.

What is your favorite subject(s) in school? Why?

I like science because it gives you opportunities to learn new things if you experiment with them.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to explore the world with my family. I would like to go to Australia maybe… No! France!
