August Music Student of the Month

Say hello to Camila Gonzalez! Camila is a flute player from VH1 Save the Music/Danbury Public Schools. She was nominated by Kaitlyn Schuessler, General Music and Band Teacher at Ellsworth Avenue Elementary School in Danbury, CT.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who nominated you? How long have you been playing your instrument?

My name is Camila. I like to play the flute. Miss Schuessler, my band teacher, nominated me. I have been playing the flute for 2 years.

What has music and/or your program taught you?

Music has taught me that hard work is good and that patience is important.

What is your favorite piece of music to play?

I really don’t know what my favorite piece of music is but I love playing the flute and listening to hard work pay off.

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any hobbies?

I like to do gymnastics and practice the flute.

What is your favorite subject(s) in school? Why?

Music is my favorite subject because I am always learning new notes and songs.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to be a professional at flute and know a lot of music.
