How Does Music Empower Bill Carbone?

I was going to be a rock star, not a nonprofit leader. My musical consciousness blossomed in 4th grade—the late 80s. I still remember the first time I purchased my own music. It was two cassettes: Poison, “Look What the Cat Dragged In” and DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, “He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper.”

April Music Student of the Month

Our Music Student of the Month is Brooke Guinyard. Brooke is in the band program at Danbury Public Schools in Connecticut. She's in fourth grade and has been playing the clarinet for five months. Congrats, Brooke!

March Music Student of the Month

Elijah Hill is SpreadMusicNow's Music Student of the Month! Elijah is a Marching Crusader with The Roots of Music in New Orleans. He's in 3rd grade and has been playing the trombone for two years. Keep up the good work!

February Music Student of the Month

Congratulations to this month's Music Student of the Month: Avery! Avery Cohen is in the music program at Danbury Public Schools in Connecticut. He's in 3rd grade and loves to play the piano.

January Music Student of the Month

Miguel Angel Sosa Jr is in the music program at Neighborhood Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and was nominated by Jonathan French to be a Music Student of the Month. He is 10 years old and has been playing the piano for 4 years.

December Music Student of the Month

Yaki is a 13-year-old cellist at Music Haven and our Music Student of the Month. She's been at Music Haven for 5 years where she has learned to never give up and always try her best.

November Music Student of the Month

Selin Agurcia is one of Project Music's rising senior leaders, and we're proud to feature him as a Music Student of the Month. Selin is a senior at Stamford High School in Stamford, Connecticut and he plays the saxophone.

October Music Student of the Month

Congratulations to Wilson Perez Duran from Danbury Public Schools. He's our Music Student of the Month! "Music has taught me to be myself," said Wilson. "Music has also taught me to feel better about myself."

September Music Student of the Month

James Quispo is a 10th grader from Stamford, Connecticut who plays the violin, cello, and guitar. "Throughout the years with INTEMPO I have developed responsibility and discipline," said James. "These two things have helped me grow as a person."
