March Music Student of the Month

OliviaShout out to Olivia Salka, the SpreadMusicNow Music Student of the Month for March! Olivia is a 5th grade clarinet student and was nominated by her Elementary band teacher, Paul Mauro.

Olivia Salka is a clarinet student at King St. Intermediate School. She is in her second year playing and recently auditioned for and earned a spot in the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra in Ridgefield, CT.

She frequently sits in with the Danbury High School band and has performed as a soloist in the concerts at King St. Olivia is very motivated and often comes to the music room for extra practice during her recess time. She also will assist in the beginner classes when possible as a peer mentor.

    Congratulations, Olivia! I was a clarinet player in elementary school also. Music has always been an important and necessary part of my life.
